The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is the top professional league of women's soccer/football in the United States.

Season start: The season is scheduled to begin with the 2025 NWSL Challenge Cup, a Supercup match that this year will feature a rematch of the 2024 NWSL Championship between the Orlando Pride and the Washington Spirit, scheduled on 7 March 2025. The regular season will begin the following week, on 14 March.
Format: The top eight teams in the final standings at the end of the NWSL season qualify for the playoffs and the quarter-finals.
