ABOUT SERIE B FEMMINILE
The Serie B Femminile is the second-highest tier of Italian women’s football, playing a critical role in promoting and developing talent for the top division, Serie A Femminile. The 2024-2025 season features a competitive lineup of teams, each aiming for promotion or fighting to avoid relegation.
League Format and Teams
The Serie B Femminile comprises 16 teams, competing in a round-robin format. Each team plays the others twice—home and away—over the course of the season:

Promotion and Relegation
Promotion and relegation play an important role in maintaining competitiveness in the league. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to Serie A Femminile, gaining a place among Italy's elite clubs for the following year. Meanwhile, the bottom three teams face relegation to Serie C Femminile.

From the 2023/24 season of Serie B Femminile, Lazio was promoted to Serie A Femminile.

Ahead of the 2024/25 season, there were some irregular team changes. Pomigliano CF, who were relegated from Serie A Femminile, failed to register for Serie B Femminile. Furthermore ASD Meran Women, one of the Serie C Femminile group winners in the 2023–24 season were found ineligible by the federation. To fill these gaps, Orobica Bergamo, the runner-up of 2023–24 Serie C Femmilie group A, and Pavia Academy, the 14th place finisher in the 2023–24 season of Serie B Femminile, who were first set for relegation, were admitted to play in Serie B Femminile in the 2024/25 season.
Season Dates
The 2024-2025 Serie B Femminile season runs from 31 August 2024 – 18 May 202 This format allows clubs to develop a rhythm, and many key matchups occur in the second half of the season, as teams battle for promotion or fight against relegation.
